Extend Validity of VI Postpaid SIM without Paying Rent - Safe Custody

Mobile SIMs will be disconnected after a particular period if not used and the number will be lost. Customers who are working abroad find it difficult to retain their SIM active as they are unable to use the SIM / It is expensive attending / making calls or sending SMS. 

In order to retain their Number, Prepaid Customer can Recharge their SMS with sufficient amount and monthly Rs 20 will be deducted and the SIM Number can be retained. Postpaid Customers have to pay the Monthly Rental even if they are not using the SIM while abroad.

Vi had introduced a new feature named SAFE CUSTODY where customers can retain their SMS in Safe Custody for a period of   Months at a time with a monthly rent of Rs 50 and no need to pay the Monthly Rental of the SIM, thus customer can save a lot of money and retain the sim number also.

How to Enable Safe Custody in Vi Postpaid SIM?

In order to activate Safe Custody for your Vi Postpaid SIM. First, you have to make the payment for the total outstanding balance (billed and un-billed) along with the Safe Custody Rental for your preferred number of Months and contact the Vi customer care through E-Mail for activating the Safe Custody.

For Eg: Your Outstanding Billed Amount is Rs 399 and Un-Billed Amount is Rs. 100 and you need to activate Safe Custody for 4 Months. You need to Pay Rs. 399 + Rs. 100 + Rs. 300+ GST (3 to 6 months, Rs. 300 + GST) and send a mail to requesting activation of Safe Custody in your Vi Postpaid Sim. You will get an E-Mail that Safe Custody is activate in your SIM.

You can also send someone to the nearest Vi Office along with an Authorization Letter and make payment of the outstanding bill and the Safe Custody Amount and activate the service.

You have to Deactivate Safe Custody immediately after the Tenure of the Safe Custody otherwise your SIM will be disconnected Permanently. You need to send an E-Mail to Reconnect your SIM or Extend the Safe Custody on expiry of Safe Custody Tenure and same will be Reconnected or Extended Safe Custody.

If it is not reconnected immediately the SIM will be disconnected permanently. Keep this in Mind or else you will loose you number.

You can call Vi on 9820098200 or email Vi at customercare@vodafoneidea.com and request for extension of Safe Custody. 

In case Safe custody is not extended and request for reconnection of the number is not received within the expiry date, your number will be permanently disconnected on expiry of the Safe custody period.

You can cancel the Safe Custody anytime by Sending an E-Mail to Vi customer Care.

There should be sufficient balance in your account for activating the Safe Custody for a preferred number of Months. 

The Safe Custody feature allows you to protect mobile connection from deactivation due to  non-usage.

Charges for Safe Custody

0 to 3 months, Rs. 150 + GST will be charged

3 to 6 months, Rs. 300 + GST will be charged

6 to 12 months, Rs. 600 + GST will be charged

You will receive a call from Vi on the alternate contact number provided by you to inform you about the expiry of your Safe Custody period. and also You will receive an email on your registered email address about the expiry of Safe Custody.
